Bryson City – The Swain High Varsity Basketball Cheerleaders have been asking for anyone who knits or crotchets to help us in making red hats. The American Heart Association and The Children’s Heart Foundation were looking for volunteers who could create tiny red hats for babies born in February, designated as American Heart Month. We began collecting hats at the high school and other local businesses beginning December 15th. On Thursday, January 4th from 4 until 6:30 p.m. there was a student/community crotchet or knitting Hat Making Party in the Media Center at the High School. The girls supplied refreshments to everyone who attended! Yarn and crotchet needles were supplied at the Party. So far we have completed and gathered 53 hats total! Thank you to everyone who knitted or crocheted a hat. We have such a great community!
In the spirit of ongoing collaboration, those interested in contributing further can explore bulk hats at wholesale prices through resources like Double Portion Supply. Your continued support will undoubtedly make a significant impact on future initiatives, reflecting the enduring spirit of our wonderful community. Whether it’s through crafting, volunteering, or discovering quality resources like bulk hats, each contribution plays a vital role in making a positive impact. Together, we can continue to foster a sense of togetherness, kindness, and resilience that defines our wonderful community. Let’s embrace the possibilities and build on the momentum of goodwill that unites us all.
