Bryson City – The Lady Devils, anxious to wipe Wednesdays loss to Smoky Mountain from their memory, raced out to an early 22-12 lead over visiting Andrews and never looked back. Swain eventually took an 78-67 conference win, scoring their highest point total of the season.
After having been beaten badley on the boards in their early games, the Lady Devils made a concerted effort to improve that area with stunning results. Sophomore center Taylor Collins finished with a game high 12 rebounds, to go along with 12 points for her first double double of the season. Senior forward Grace Cabe did her share with a season high 11 rebound performance to go along with her season high 19 points. Collins also had 4 blocked shots, while Cabe added 2.
Lynsey Hicks paced Swain with a game high 24 points and team high 3 assists. Ashton Younce finished with 16 points, including an impressive 7 of 10 from the free throw line. Alissa Smith added 7 rebounds and 6 points for Swain.
