Bryson City – Senior Emma Pindur, a quite and unassuming young lady, continues to speak volumes on the track or on cross country courses. This weekend Pindur will run in the NCHSAA 1A State Cross Country Championships. A win would give her 8 State Championships for her career, and her first in Cross Country.
If Pindur were to win tomorrow and secure her 8th title it would tie her with Erik Perkins for most State Championships at Swain High School. Perkins took home 5 individual titles to go along with 1 relay championship and 2 team championships.
Conversely Pindur has 2 individual titles, 4 relay championships and 1 team title to her credit, so far.
Interestingly enough a win tomorrow would also give Pindur her 3rd individual NCHSAA State Title, and tie her with Chelsea Treadway for most all-time by a female at Swain High School. Having won 2 800-meter State Championships, Pindur only needs to defend her title this spring to tie Treadway, who also had 3 straight 800-meter State Championships.
Win lose or draw, Pindur has already left her mark on the history books of Swain High School.
