Franklin – At the half the home standing Franklin Panthers held a 14-7 advantage, but the second half would be a totally different game. Franklin pounded the Maroon Devil defense with a relentless running game. In doing so they got 3 touchdown runs, 1 from Grant Stiles and 2 from Brock Kloepple, on their way to a 35-7 advantage by the end of the quarter. Swain scored twice in the final stanza to make the final score 42-21.
Franklin would finish the game with 432 rushing yards, while the Maroon Devils finished with 134 yards. Brodie Bowman paced Swain with 75 yards on 17 carries, including a 50 yard touchdown run. Hunter Burrell had 40 yards on 9 carries and a 4-yard touchdown run. Bryce Sain accounted for the other Maroon Devil score on a 11 yard touchdown run.
Will Paul finished with a team high 10 tackles on defense, he was followed by Ice Littlejohn who was in on 9 stops and Wren Gunter finished with 8.
The Maroon Devils are off this week, before beginning Smoky Mountain Conference play next week at Hayesville.
