Cashiers – Senior pitcher Darren Blankenship tossed a 1-hit shutout of Blue Ridge on Tuesday. Blankenship struck out 11 and walked only two in working five full innings for the complete game win. Swain would give Blankenship all the run support he would need with a 7 run outburst in the top of the second. The Devils would go on to score 4 runs each in the fourth and fifth innings to give Swain a 15-0 win.
Dawson Chambers paced Swain, going 3-3 on the day and driving in a pair of runs. Jordan McGaha, Mikel Laws and Craig Cutshaw had 2 hits each, while Trae Bradley scored 3 times. Chambers, Laws, and Ian Brooks drove in a pair of runs each. Dylan Smith swiped three bases and scored twice.
