Bryson City – The Swain High Golf Team took first place at home on Thursday March 23rd with a combine score of 168. Second place was Carolina Day from Asheville with a 177, third Nantahala with a 227, fourth Robbinsville with a 247, and fifth was Andrews with a 261. Leading the Maroon Devils was Senior Jack Cornblum who shot a 40. Senior Will Ogle and Junior Holden Petty both finished the day with a 42, and rounding out the top four scores was Brett Treadway with a 44. Also competing for the Devils was Sophomore Nick Dole who shot a 47.
“Overall not our best performance at home,” stated Maroon Devil head Coach Josh Crisp, “We need to continue to find ways to be hungry. We have to also find ways to drop shots and improve our overall games. This team has great potential this season!”
