Bryson City – The Maroon Devils headed into the 6th inning with a 3-1 lead over visiting Robbinsville. They emerged from the inning with a 9-1 lead, eventually taking a 9-2 conference win.
Swain scored in the first when the Devils loaded the bases on a single by Trae Bradley, a walk by Mikel Laws, and Ian Brooks was hit with a pitch. Jordan McGaha walked to drive in Brooks, and then Craig Cutshaw singled to score Bradley and Laws.
In the sixth inning, Craig Cutshaw, Dawson Chambers, Dylan Smith, Dawson Lowe, Gaige Southards and Ian Brooks all scored for the Devils. Mikel Laws, Trae Bradley and Ian Brooks all drove in runs in the decisive inning.
For the game Craig Cutshaw, Dawson Lowe and Ian Brooks each drove in a pair of runs. Brooks scored a pair of runs as well.
On the hill, Trae Bradley worked six innings striking out 9 and walking only 1 to earn the win. Darren Blankenship worked one inning of relief striking out 2.
