Hiwassee Dam – Monday the Maroon Devils fell behind early and never recovered dropping their first loss of the season at Hiwassee Dam. The Eagles scored three times in the first and added three more in the second building a 6-0 lead, before taking an 8-1 win over the Devils.
Gaige Southards and Craig Cutshaw had two hits each for the Devils. Trae Bradley and Cody Danner accounted for the remainder of the Devils hits on the day as they had one each. Mikal Laws drove in the Devils only run on the day, as he plated Trae Bradley on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
Brady Kirkland, Trae Bradley and Dawson Lowe combined on the mound for the Devils. The trio surrendered 6 earned runs while striking out 8 and walking 7.
