Bryson City – Senior Gabby Jones saved her best for last. Jones scored 5 of the Lady Devils 7 overtime points to send the Devils to a thrilling 64-62 conference win over visiting Robbinsville.
Swain trailed by two with just 16 seconds remaining in regulation. Following a timeout it was Jones who provided the heroics as she took the ball and drove the middle of the lane laying in a nifty runner to tie the game and force overtime.
In the extra period Jones scored 5 points, sandwiched between Grace Cabe and Lynsey Hicks free throws to secure the win.
Hicks poured in a game high 24 points, followed closely by Jones who finished with 22. Grace Cabe dominated the boards with a game high 16 rebounds to go along with 7 points and 4 steals. Taylor Medlin dished out 5 assists, with Hicks and Alissa Smith added 4 assists each.
