Andrews – Swain came off the Christmas break the same way they went into it, red hot. The Devils bolted out to a huge early lead and never looked back in downing Andrews 80-68. While Swain suffered their first loss of the season, they still finished off the Battle of the States Christmas Tournament with a 2-1 record.
Tuesday the Devils got a game high 27 points from senior forward Phinehas Little, and 22 more from senior guard Evan Bradley in downing Andrews. Little added 10 rebounds and 4 assists, while Bradley finished with 5 assists. Clayton Catolster and Zeke Bradley finished with 10 points each.
Battle of the States Christmas Tournament
Swain opened the Christmas Tournament with a 55-49 win over host Union County. Zeke Bradley paced Swain with 13 points, while Clayton Catolster had 10.
In game two the Devils dropped their first game of the season to Lumpkin County out of Georgia. Phinehas Little finished with 18 points, while Brett Treadway and Zeke Bradley had 9 points each.
In the final contest of the tournament the Devils squared off with Smoky Mountain Conference foe Hayesville. Swain ran out to a 45-19 lead in the first half and coasted to a 80-38 win over the Jackets. Zeke Bradley finished with 16 points while Brier Younce had 15, Evan Bradley finished with 12 and Phinehas Little with 11 for Swain.
