Andrews – The Lady Devils notched their second straight win, and fourth win overall Tuesday as they downed Andrews 62-44 in Smoky Mountain Conference action. During the Christmas break the Lady Devils finished the Battle of the States tournament tournament with a win and two losses, one by overtime.
Tuesday the Lady Devils used a 20-2 run in the second quarter to pull away against Andrews. Junior guard Lynsey Hicks paced Swain with a game high 25 points and 5 steals. Alissa Smith finished with 9 points.
Battle of the States Tournament
Union County pulled away down the stretch to take a 62-57 win over Swain in game one of the Tournament. Swain got a season high 13 points from senior Tori Treadway, 12 points from Ayianna West and 10 from Ashton Younce, Younce dished out 6 assists, while Grace Cabe had 7 steals.
Lumpkin County downed Swain 64-58 in overtime. Swain led most of the way in this game, but Lumpkin came back down the stretch to force overtime and then outscored the Devils 10-4 in the extra frame to take the win. Lynsey Hicks paced Swain with a game high 18 points to go along with 6 assists. Taylor Medlin finished with 14 and Grace Cabe 12, Cabe finished with a team high 8 rebounds.
Swain defeated Piedmont 71-43 in the final game of the tournament. No individual results have been shared!
