Bryson City – The Lady Devils played a strong 2nd half Thursday, but ended up falling short in their comeback bid against visiting Franklin. At the half Franklin led 25-24, then Swain took control in the 3rd period building a 6 point lead. Franklin stormed back taking the lead again in the fourth. Down the stretch Swain’s furious comeback bid fell just short as Franklin took a 51-48 non conference win.
Lynsey Hicks hit a pair of clutch three pointers in the closing minutes to pull Swain back to within two. Hicks would finish with 14 points, while Taylor Medlin had 15 to lead the Lady Devils.
