Chapel Hill – Swain High School is in 2nd place in the Wells Fargo Cup Standings after the fall sports season. The Wells Fargo Cup is given each year to the Smoky Mountain Conference school that has the best overall year in sports. Swain has won the Wells Fargo Cup for three straight years.
Smoky Mountain 1A: Murphy finishes on top after this fall sports season with championships in football and men’s cross country along with second-place finishes in women’s cross country and volleyball. Swain County is in second place thanks to a women’s cross country championship and second-place finishes in men’s cross country and football. Hayesville takes home third place after securing a volleyball championship and a tied third-place finish in men’s soccer.
