Andrews- Our Maroon Devils came out with a win this Wednesday, October 12th against the Andrews Wildcats. Seniors Carter Davis and captain Austin Shuler got the first two goals of the night in the first half. With a change in Swain’s line up from a 4-2-3-1 to a classic 4-4-2 formation, Swain was almost like a wall and wouldn’t let an Andrews player through to score but once at the end of the first. This concluded the first half with a score 2-1 for Swain. In the second half, Swain crashed on the goal and our very own senior Drew Johnson score the last two goals on Andrews within minutes of each other. Shuler states the team played less greedy which allowed them to work as a team and score the goals they got last night. With the Wildcats on their heels during the entire game, Swain comes out with a ending score of a 4-1 win which makes their conference record a 3-4 and overall record a 3-6.
Next Monday, October 17th will be their next soccer game which is here at Swain against Murphy starting at 6PM. The following game that week will be Wednesday, October 19th at Highlands starting at 6PM.
Come out and support your Maroon Devils!
