Robbinsville- Wednesday, October 12th showed to be a promising chilly day for Swain’s cross country teams. Although races were delayed due to a longer than estimated first race, Swain was more prepared than ever. The quick flat course at Robbinsville High School proved to be the perfect PR (personal record) meet for all teams present. With the men starting first, our Maroon Devils started out great. They kept their pace and increased it the further they ran while pushing off each other running even faster. Our women being next, our Lady Devils paced each other like the men and broke off and started to push past each other and claim their spots. When totalling the scores up from both teams, we knew we had won. But, what the Devils were most proud of was the PRs they had accomplished. By pushing themselves and working together, Swain’s cross country teams deserve this success because of all the hard work they have put in since the beginning of the season in June.
Swain’s next cross country meet will be Wednesday, October 19th at Cherokee for the Smokey Mountain Conference Championship to defend their titles.
Come and support them as they become state bound!
