Bryson City – The Lady Devils continued their hot streak as they downed Robbinsville 3-0 Tuesday. Swain took the match by the scores of 26-24, 25-14, and 25-20 to win their 8th match out of their last 10.
The first set had all the makings of a Robbinsville upset. After Swain took an early 1-0 lead, Robbinsville took control of the game, pushing their lead to as high as 9 points. The Lady Devils would not get another lead until they overtook the Knights at 25-24, Swain then served out to take the tight 26-24 lead.
Using an attacking style that had been absent in previous games, the Lady Devils rolled to easy wins in games two and three.
Unofficially Emma Blythe and Gabby Jones had 5 kills each, while freshman Taylor Collins added 4, and junior Alissa Smith served up 5 aces.
