Bryson City – At halftime of the Swain Franklin football game on Friday Swain and Macon Counties joined together to honor the men and women who served our country. The ceremony honored, well over 100 veterans from both counties, with an on field display that included the Swain JROTC and Marching Maroon Devil Band. Not only were those in attendance honored, the ceremony also honored Veterans around the world, as well as those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy everyday.
Special thanks go out to Major Anthony Monnat and SMSgt Dennis Jones for their work on the project. Karen Williams and Lesa Bridges for their part in the program as well.
Kudos to you, the JROTC members, band members, cheerleaders, and each and every student who stood to pay tribute to the amazing men and women who sacrificed so much for our country! The whole event was absolutely RED, WHITE, and BLUE STRONG!!
