Zack Epps photo Bryson City – Swain County High School is pleased to announce that senior Zack Epps has agreed to continue his baseball career at Chattanooga State Community College, through an academic scholarship. Epps has been accepted into the prestigious Global Scholars Honors Program, whose purpose is to give students the opportunity to gain a world perspective and awareness through a deeper and more connected, contextualized college experience. As Chattanooga State Global Scholars, students prepare to transfer to top-tier universities and/or enter the highly competitive job market. Class sizes are small, which allows for in-depth discussion with professors and other honors students who share a passion for learning. With the opportunity to study abroad, GSP encourages students not only to explore the world, but to understand their place in it.
Greg Dennis, head baseball coach at Chattanooga State had this to say about Epps – “We are excited to be adding Zack Epps to our 2016 recruiting class here at Chattanooga State. He is a young man that we feel very familiar with. He has attended a few of our hitting camps over the past couple of years and has worked out for us numerous times. We know the success he has enjoyed at Swain and we feel that there is no reason to anticipate him doing anything but continuing that success here. We have been nationally ranked eight of the past 10 years and finished in the top 3 in our conference for 7 of the past 8 season. We have high expectations for this year’s recruiting class and Zack is a big reason that we do.”
Epps played summer travel ball with the Carolina Showcase Baseball 18U Scout team sponsored by Dove Tail Bat Company.
