Bryson City – The Maroon Devils used a 5 run third inning to take the lead and then coasted to a 15-5 win over Hiwassee Dam on Thursday. Swain trailed 3-2 heading into the 3rd when they plated the 5 runs, they then tacked on 2 in the fourth, 4 in the fifth, and 2 more in the sixth.
Dawson Lowe continued his good work for the Devils. Lowe went 2-4 and scored a pair of runs and knocked in 3 runs. Zach Epps was 2-3 and drove in 4 runs to go along with 2 runs scored. Caleb Taylor and Dawson Chambers both had a pair of hits, while Craig Cutshaw drove in a pair of runs. Gaige Southards scored 3 runs and reached base via 3 walks.
Trent Wright worked a complete game to pick up the win on the mound. Wright gave up only 2 hits on the day, while striking out 5.
