Bryson City – Swain used an 8 run 5th inning to break open a tight contest and take a 5-inning 10-0 win over visiting Cherokee on Friday. Sydney Call and Caitlyn Dills drove in a pair of runs each in the Lady Devil win.
Dills went 2-2 and also laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to drive home a run. Call finished 2-4, while Alissa Smith and Shayne Catolster both were 1-2 with a double and an rbi.
Taylor Day turned in another sensational performance from the circle. Day scattered 2 hits and struck out 6 while walking none in earning her first shutout of the season.
