Highlands – Swain jumped out to a 23-5 1st quarter advantage and then held off Highlands to record a 65-49 1st round win. With the win Swain advances to face Mount Airy in the 2nd round of the NCHSAA 1A Basketball playoffs.
Swain got a team high 22 points from junior Grant Shuler. Zeke Bradley finished with 11 points, while Phinehas Little added 10 for the Devils.
Swain will travel to Mount Airy on Thursday, game time to be announced.
