Bryson City – It was a festive night for the Lady Devil basketball team. First they honored their 3 seniors, Gabby Lane, Caitlin Dills, and Brooklyn Brown with a pregame ceremony. Then they shook off a sluggish start to post a 30 point third quarter that was more than enough to carry them to an impressive 70-41 win over Highlands.
Swain led 27-23 at halftime, but came out in the 3rd quarter to post one of their best quarters of the season. Junior Maleeah Langstaff scored 12 of her game high 20 points in the decisive quarter. In the quarter Swain outscored Highlands 30-7 and came out of the quarter with a 57-30 lead.
Lynsey Hicks, Swain’s sophomore point guard, finished with 14 points 5 steals and 5 assists. Taylor Medlin added 12 points while Alissa Smith had 11. Medlin also had 7 rebounds, while Caitlin Dills finished with 6 boards.
