Bryson City – It took an extra 4 minutes to decide the winner Tuesday between Swain and Rosman. In the extra frame the Tigers outscored Swain 3-2 to take a hard fought 59-58 win. Both teams had multiple opportunities both down the stretch and in overtime, but could not convert. Rosman got 21 points from freshman Gracy Briggs and 19 point and 14 rebounds from senior Callie Chappell to offset 4 Lady Devils who scored in double figures.
Lynsey Hicks paced Swain with a team high 16 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Maleeah Langstaff finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots, while Taylor Medlin and Grace Cabe each finished with 10 points.
