Asheville – On a night that saw UNC’s Roy Williams inducted into the WNC Sports Hall of Fame, Swain’s Spencer McCoy collected some honors of his own. For the second straight year McCoy was named the Outstanding 1A/2A Male Athlete in an Olympic Sport (Wrestling). The award was presented at the 54th WNC Sports Awards Banquet, presented by Southeastern Sports Medicine at Omni Grove Park Inn. Athletes representing all classifications from all over WNC were present for the evening.
McCoy, a three time State Wrestling Champion and standout in football, committed earlier this year to continue his football
career at Western Carolina University.
