Bryson City – Abby Durisseau scored two goals to lead the Lady Devils soccer team to a 2-1 victory over South Davidson. The win was sends Swain to the second round of the state playoffs in Elkin on Friday or Saturday. Durisseau scored early in the first half and South Davidson tied the score before halftime. The second half saw no scoring so the game went into overtime. Overtime consists of two ten minute halves. If the score is still tied, two five minutes golden goal halves are played. If still then penalty kicks are taken to decide. Durisseau scored the game winner with two and a half minutes remaining in the second ten minute half.
