Robbins – The Lady Devils traveled 4 1/2 hours to play in 94 degree heat for their 1st round NCHSAA playoff game. As if that was not enough they faced a very good North Moore squad. The homestanding Mustangs jumped on top, scoring a run in each of the first two innings. It would be a lead that would hold up until the fifth, when the Lady Devils scored to cut the lead to 2-1. North Moore then scored 7 runs over the final two innings to take a 9-1 1st round win and end the Lady Devils season.
Swain scored their lone run in the 5th when freshman Alyssa Smith drew a walk. Smith had a 10 pitch at bat in drawing the walk. Kyndle Jones came on to run for Smith. Freshman Grace Cabe then grounding out advancing Jones to 2nd. Senior Karie Jones advanced Jones to 3rd with a ground out. Sydney Call then singled home Jones from 3rd with her second hit of the day.
Call and Bryar Buchanan had 2 hits each, while Adriana Kaylor, Shayne Catolster, and Karie Jones each had a single.
