Asheville – Finalists have been announced for the 54th annual WNC Awards Banquet. UNC Head Basketball Coach Roy Williams will be inducted into the WNC Sports Hall of Fame. Swain High’s Spencer McCoy has been selected as a finalist for the White & Williams 2A/1A Male Athlete in an Olympic Sport (Wrestling), while the Lady Devil cross country teams is a finalist for the Mills Manufacturing 2A/1A Female Team in an Olympic Sport.
The banquet will be held May 17th at the Omni Grove Park Inn. For the first time ever there will be an overall Male and Female athlete awards, with finalists selected from the finalists in individual categories.
