Murphy – Thursday the two remaining undefeated teams in the Smoky Mountain Conference got together. When the dust settled defending champion Hiwassee Dam downed Swain 3-1 to take over first place in the SMC.
Hiwassee Dam pushed across two runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to take a 2-1 lead. Then added another insurance run in the 3rd on a solo home run.
Swain scored in the 1st when Taylor Shuler singled home Karie Jones with the first run of the game. Adriana Kaylor and Sydney Call added a hit a piece for Swain.
