Cherokee – The Maroon Devils scored 5 runs in the fifth and then cruised to their first win of the season with an 11-2 win over Cherokee. Swain got 2 rbi from Zach Epps, Jake Marr, and Jarrett Shuler in posting the win.
Trae Bradley scored twice, and pitched 4 1/3 innings of 2 hit ball striking out 11 in earning his first win of the season. Conner Cochran finished up for Bradley, working 2 2/3 innings. Cochran struck out 7, walked none, and allowed only 1 hit.
Jake Marr and Jarrett Shuler had a pair of hits, and each doubled in the win. Trent Wright added a pair of runs and drove in a run.
