Bryson City – North Henderson pounded out 13 hits producing 15 runs Thursday, taking a 15-3 non-Conference win over Swain. The Lady Devils had 9 hits of their own but only scored 3 times, stranding 7 runners, including leaving the bases loaded.
Swain got 2 hits each from Sydney Call, Gabby Jones, and Taylor Shuler. Shuler drove in 2 of the Devils 3 runs. Freshman Shayne Catolster picked up the first hit of her varsity career with a solid single. Karie Jones and Erin Jenkins accounted for the Devils other 2 hits on the day.
The Lady Devils did not help their own cause, committing 5 errors on defense. Karie Jones scattered 3 hits over her 4 innings of work from the circle. Jones struck out a pair, while yielding only 2 earned runs.
