Blueridge, NC – After a slow start Swain Soccer get’s their first conference win against Blue Ridge giving them a 1-1 conference record and a 1-4 season record.
During the first half neither team scored ending the half at 0-0. Blue Ridge began the second half with a quick goal, and a few near misses. Swain held it together though and made the necessary adjustments. John Duncan scored the first goal mid way through the second half tying the game 1-1. Duncan scored his second goal in the last 10 minutes of play putting Swain ahead 2-1. Nick Callahan scored shortly after off an assist from Drew Johnson ending the game with a score of 3-1.
“We started off slow, but managed to pull it together before the game ended.” says Coach Parton. “Playing at Blue Ridge is always hard. Their field is small and they know how to play on it.”
