Bryson City – After last weeks loss against Franklin, Swain has proved that they are a developing team as they fought hard against the Panthers once again.
“Franklin is clearly better than us.” says Coach Parton. “They are bigger, faster, and stronger. We’ve worked all week on a new formation that would strengthen our defense and allow us to conserve energy. We have to play smart when we play a team like this, and that means energy management.”
Franklin had 30 shots on goal, the majority of which where taken outside of the 18 yard box. During the first half Swain made an error on a corner kick and Franklin capitalized on it. The second half Franklin scored two solid goals from inside of the 18. Ending the game with a score of 3-0.
“I couldn’t be more happy with how the Devils played. We possessed the ball, connected passes, and stayed composed. There were moments when it was just beautiful to watch.” says Coach Parton. “Soccer is a growing sport in our community. And I’m excited to see how the Devils will look in the future.”
