The Maroon Devils had their second straight game of two 100 yard rushers as they downed North Henderson friday night 35-20. Blake Wright and Spencer McCoy both rushed for over 100 yards, marking the second straight week for what is fast becoming the dynamic duo.
McCoy got the Devils on the board first with an 8 yard run on the first drive of the game for Swain. Wright followed with a pair of touchdown runs of 21 and 6 yards to put the Devils on top 21-0.
North got their passing game going in the second quarter as they rallied back to within 7 at 21-14 before halftime.
In the second half the Devils answered by mounting a 12 play 77 yard drive on their first possession of the third quarter. Raymius Smith did the honors this time with a 2 yard run. Spencer McCoy put the game away with his second touchdown run, this one of 6 yards. The McCoy touchdown game Swain a commanding 35-14 lead.
North added another touchdown late against the Devils second team defense.
WNC leading passer Zack Gahagan threw for over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Knights.
Blake Wright led all rushers with 143 yards on 15 carries, while Spencer McCoy added 126 yards on 21 carrires.
Taylor Oros continued his impressive string of double digit tackles with a season high 16 tackles to pace the Swain defense, while Devon Cooper added 6.
