The Lady Devils had a solid performance on the track last friday at the State 1A Championship meet, held at NC A&T. Senior Morgan Lowe concluded her high school career by finishing as State Runner-up in the high jump competition. Lowe cleared 5’2″ easily good enough for 2nd place.
Lydia Sale took 11th in the triple jump, 14th in the long jump, and was part of the 4×100 relay team that finished 11th. The relay, consisting of Sale, Valerie Arkansas, Alyssa Robinson, and Jenea Bentivogili, had a time of 53.57.
The 4×800 team finished 12th with a time of 10:58.90, the team consisted of Shelby Hyatt, Tori Swartz, Alex Treadway, and Blair Allman.
Shelby Hyatt finished 7th overall in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:54.71.
Sarah Hyatt was 6th in the pole vault, she cleared 8’6″.
Former Swain standout Stevie Sutton finished 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 34’11”.
