The Lady Devils needed a lift Tuesday. Tied 5-5 in the 5th inning with rival Cherokee the Lady Devils were struggling. Seniors Nikki Cody and Jessica Winchester provided the spark the Devils needed as they spearheaded a 5 run sixth inning that broke the game open and allowed the Lady Devils to take 13-5 win over the Braves.
Nikki Cody had three hits on the day including her first career home run, which she hit in the top of the 1st. Cody ended up a double shy of hitting for the cycle on the day, while driving in 4 runs. Winchester went 4-5 scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs. Sophomore Taylor Shuler added 3 hits of her own and drove in a pair of runs for Swain.
Karie Jones picked up the win, working 4 strong innings, before giving way to Maggie Sutton. Sutton picked up her first save of the season.
