Hayesville outlasted the Maroon Devils 5-3 in baseball action Tuesday. Swain scored twice in the 7th before Hayesville worked out of a bases loaded jam to secure the win. Swain pitchers walked 9 Hayesville batters and hit a couple more, but gave up only 3 hits on the day.
Tanner Burrell paced Swain, Burrell was 3-3 with an rbi and a double. Taylor Jones doubled and later scored Swain’s first run. Garrett Lane and Cody Dills scored Swain’s two runs in the 7th. Lane scored on Burrell’s single, while Dills scored when Cody Epps walked.
