The Maroon Devils got off to a 18-10 first quarter start and continued to build their lead over the next two quarters, eventually taking a 69-53 win over visiting Mitchell. With the win the Devils advance to the 2nd round of the NCHSAA 1A playoffs, where they will face a familiar foe in conference rival Robbinsville.
Matthew Maennle went 4 of 8 from beyond the 3 point line on his way to a game high 22 points to pace the Devils. Raymius Smith dished out 5 assists, while Greg Tisho pulled down 9 rebounds for the Devils.
