Swain’s Matthew Maennle was named the Citizen-Times All WNC Football Player of the Year for 2012. Maennle set new school records for catches in a season, touchdowns in a season, and all of the career receiving marks at SCHS. On top of that he had 9 interceptions, along with excelling on punt and kickoff returns for the Western Regional Champion Maroon Devils.
