Swain’s Jacob Wildcatt, along with Murphy’s Kenton Braswell were named the WNC Co-Players of the Week for their efforts in their team’s wins last Friday night.
Braswell rushed for 217 yards as the Bulldogs downed Albemarle for the 2nd year in a row to advance to the State 1A Championship game.
Wildcatt recorded 8 tackles, a sack, and forced 2 fumbles in the Devils 28-21 win over Monroe. Wilcatt’s dominate play on the line of scrimmage was a big reason the Devils were able to advance to the State 1AA Championship game against Southwest Onslow this Saturday.
Swain’s Corbin Panther, Payton Parker, Blake Wright, and Matthew Maennle all received votes for Player of the Week for their efforts in Friday’s game.
