Swain’s Russell Bigmeat ran his best time of the season at the Western 1A Regionals this past weekend in Cherokee. Bigmeat’s time was 18:21.04 and good for 12th place overall, it was also good enough to qualify him to run in this week’s State 1A Championship meet, which will be held in Kernersville this coming Saturday.
Overall Swain finished 10th as a team. Senior Alex Cook finished 28th with a time of 19:05.80. Harlin Moody (21:23.32), Sam Dickson (22:07.33), Ryan Bennett (23:45.78), and Alex Pilon (26:37.40) rounded out the Swain runners on the day.
