Maroon Out

October 18, 2012 by Toby Burrell

Friday’s home game against Rosman has been declared an official Maroon Out.  All parts of the Maroon Machine (meaning every Maroon Devil – students, faculty, players, fans, parents) are asked to participate by dressing in Maroon and actively participating in the game and game events.

Our goal is to present a united front to our opponents, and to let them know that they will have to beat more than just our team, they will have to beat our whole community.

So let’s turn Maroon!  You will notice that things have changed on our website and facebook to reflect the Maroon Out.

Official Rules of a SCHS Maroon Out

  1. You MUST wear MAROON, school day and to the EVENT!
  2. The whole idea for a Maroon Out is to make sure the opponent knows they are playing against ALL of us!
  3. For Football Games
    • Cheer; join the cheerleaders, support the band, and have fun yelling and cheering for the Maroon Devils
    • When you hear the rally bells, STAND and make noise. (Noise includes, jugs, keys (jingle), or just scream)
    • Get on board the Crazy Train for kickoffs – stand and yell
    • Stand anytime either team enters the Red Zone. (That is the inside the 20 yard line moving to score.)
    • Chant, yell, scream, and support the Devils, in other words become the MAROON MACHINE.
    • We MUST NEVER show poor sportsmanship by yelling at the opposing team, their fans, band, or players.
