On a night set aside to honor their seniors the Lady Devils made it count with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Blue Ridge by the scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-10. The win concluded the regular season for Swain, next up will be the Smoky Mountain Conference Tournament where they will enter play as the number 2 seed.
Swain used dominant serving to pull away from a pesky Blue Ridge team. Junior Alex Treadway served Swain from a 3 point deficit to a 9 point lead in game 2. All night the Lady Devils used serving just like Treadway’s to keep Blue Ridge off balance and out of their offense.
Seniors Kelley Brown and Jessica Winchester had solid nights. Brown finished with 12 kills, while Winchester had 6. Sophomore Lydia Sale finished with 11 kills, while junior Jennifer Brown had 9 kills.
