With perfect conditions on a lightning fast course, the Swain County girls cross country team continued their impressive start with a second place finish Wednesday at the Murphy Invitational.
All seven Lady Maroon Devils recorded personal bests, led by Lauren Shell, who ran 22:16 for 5K. Blair Allman was next with a 22:47 (13th place), followed closely by Erin Zwick and Autumn Demonet, both of whom ran 23:40 to place 19th and 20th, respectively. Tori Swartz rounded out the scorers with a 25:18, good enough for 32nd place. Morgan Lowe (26:13) and Summer Hight (26:45) also ran well for Swain.
Union County (Ga.) won the meet, followed by Swain, Hayesville, Murphy, Towns County (Ga.), and Robbinsville.
