ANDREWS, WNC – Swain High School opened their 2012 soccer season with a conference win over Andrews. The Devils got 4 goals before giving up a late score for a final of 4-1.
Matt Mordhorst opened the Swain scoring. Mordhorst eluded two Andrews defenders and then rifled a 12 yard shot with his left foot that found the back of the net. Mordhorst then opened the second half with another goal to give Swain a 2-0 lead.
The Devils third goal would be a highlight quality goal. Mordhorst sent a perfect centering pass to a streaking Dylan Rose who headed a shot into the goal. Ryver Gunter closed the Swain scoring with a rocket from 10 yards out.
Swain is 1-0 on the season and hosts Murphy on Wednesday in their home opener for the season.
