BRYSON CITY, WNC – Swain captured a blowout 11-1 win in five innings at Swain last Friday as they downed Cherokee in SMC action.
Swain Maroon Devils Varsity scored five runs in the third on 3 passed balls, a sacrifice fly by Taylor Jones, and an RBI double by Tanner Burrell.
It was a good day at the plate for Swain’s Garrett Lane. Lane went 1-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He tripled in the fourth inning.
Cherokee High School couldn’t get anything going as long as Bronson Lindsay was dealing from the hill. Cherokee High School managed just two hits off of Lindsay, who allowed one earned run, walked six and struck out seven during his five innings of work
