BRYSON CITY, WNC – Operating with about the third of the team missing due to the senior trip, the Swain Boys’ Track Team finished in second place behind Hayesville yesterday at Cherokee High School. Swain downed Cherokee, Rosman, and Highlands. Several members of the team stepped up and participated in events that they normally do not participate.
Swain got a tremendous lift from their weight men and jumpers who ran in many of our relays and running events. Special kudos goes to Drew Cook, Garrett Lowe, and Dylan Rose for their contributions. Also, Jackib Craig should be commended for his effort as well.
Greg Tisho won the shot put and the 400 meter race. Garrett Lowe won the triple jump and our “make-shift” 4×800 meter relay team (Alex Cook, Scott Sneed, Austin Curtice , and Tyler Wike) and our 4×400 meter relay team (Greg Tisho, Garrett Lowe, Austin Curtice, and Alex Cook) finished first in these events. The 4×400 meter relay team ran a very respectable 3:49 in this event.
