BRYSON CITY, WNC – Swain High pounded out 19 hits in downing Hayesville 11-4 in SMC action on Tuesday. Sophomore Kendra Kirkland led the way with 5 hits, followed by Brooke Coggins who had 4 hits.
Run production was spread throughout the Swain lineup as Hannah Bowick drove in 3 runs, while Maggie Sutton, Kirkland, and Breanna Bryant drove in 2 runs each.
Brittany Shuler and Nikki Cody set the table at the top of Swain’s lineup by going a combined 5-8 and scoring 6 runs.
Richelle Jenkins picked up her 3rd win of the season by pitching a complete game, striking out 3 along the way.
