BRYSON CITY, WNC – Swain Maroon Devils Varsity refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Rosman High School, recording a 12-2 victory on Wednesday at Rosman.
The game was decided quickly as Swain Maroon Devils Varsity exerted its will early with five runs in the first three innings.
Dylan Rose racked up three RBIs on three hits for Swain Maroon Devils Varsity. Rose doubled in the third inning, singled in the fifth inning, and homered in the sixth inning.
Dylon Winchester handled Rosman High School’s lineup, racking up eight strikeouts. Swain Maroon Devils Varsity’s pitcher allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over seven innings.
Swain Maroon Devils Varsity ran wild on the basepaths, finishing with seven steals. Cody Rich and Tanner Burrell each had one stolen base, Rose had two stolen bases, and Cody Dills had three stolen bases.
