BRYSON CITY, NC – Swain County High School Head Coach Sam Pattillo has stepped down as football coach. Pattillo cited wanting to take on more Central Office responsibilities as his reason for stepping down. In his 3 years at the helm he had a 31-10 overall record with 2 Smoky Mountain Conference Championships and one State Title to his credit. He was recently named the WNC Coach of the Year as well as the Smoky Mountain Conference Coach of the Year. Under his guidance the Maroon Devils won the 1AA State Championship this past season.
